"The Incumbent"

Tom Brady

By the time Tom Brady captured his sixth Lombardi Trophy with New England, his place in NFL history was already secure, but his competitive drive remained. The Patriots’ victory in Super Bowl LIII added another championship to a partnership built on preparation, discipline, and the expectation of returning to the biggest stage.

Justyn Farano’s sixth Brady painting, “The Incumbent,” celebrates that New England chapter with a confident passing portrait. Brady appears in his blue No. 12 jersey against a broad American flag motif, with clean white space and campaign-style lettering giving the work a distinctive character. The composition treats the reigning champion as a familiar presence ready for another challenge, preserving the poise and determination that defined Brady’s Patriots years.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
