"The Bank Is Open For Business"

Ernie Banks

Ernie Banks gave generations of Cubs fans a reason to love another day at the ballpark. Mr. Cub spent his entire major league career with Chicago, hit 512 home runs and won consecutive National League MVP awards in 1958 and 1959. His achievements placed him in Cooperstown, while his enthusiasm and familiar “Let’s play two” spirit made him part of Wrigley Field’s identity. “The Bank Is Open For Business” celebrates that combination of remarkable talent and enduring optimism, honoring the player whose name became inseparable from the Cubs.

Justyn Farano brings Banks’ welcoming smile together with Wrigley Field in a portrait styled with the warmth of vintage baseball graphics. It is a tribute to Mr. Cub’s place in the ballpark and in the memories of the fans who loved him. This artist recreation is hand-signed by Ernie Banks.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
