"Take No Prisoners"

LeBron James

LeBron James’ move to Miami in 2010 began a four-season run that brought the Heat four consecutive NBA Finals appearances. Championships in 2012 and 2013, with James named Finals MVP both times, made that period a major chapter in his career and in Miami basketball history.

Created at the beginning of that Miami chapter, Justyn Farano’s “Take No Prisoners” shows James moving toward the basket with the ball in his right hand. His white No. 6 Heat uniform stands against a forceful red-and-black background, with large LeBron lettering reinforcing the portrait’s identity. The close perspective emphasizes the player’s size and forward movement. The work preserves James in a Miami uniform, connecting a new team and number with the intensity he brought to the game. This original painting is hand-signed by LeBron James.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
