"Sharp Shooter"

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma City years established him as one of the NBA’s most accomplished scorers. He won four scoring titles with the Thunder and earned the 2014 league MVP award, combining unusual height with the shooting touch to threaten a defense from many positions on the court.

Justyn Farano’s “Sharp Shooter” captures Durant preparing to shoot in Oklahoma City’s blue No. 35 uniform. Smaller images above show him finishing at the rim and handling the basketball, while the Thunder emblem and a circular target connect the background to the painting’s title. Blue and orange carry the team’s colors throughout the composition. The piece brings several parts of Durant’s offensive game together during his MVP era in Oklahoma City. This original painting is hand-signed by Kevin Durant.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
