George Brett

George Brett gave Kansas City a standard of greatness that spanned generations. He spent his entire 21-season major league career with the Royals, collecting 3,154 hits, winning the 1980 American League MVP Award and helping bring the franchise its first World Series championship in 1985. His batting titles in 1976, 1980 and 1990 made him the first player to win one in three different decades. In “Royalty,” Justyn Farano celebrates the Hall of Fame third baseman whose relentless pursuit of the next hit made him the enduring face of Royals baseball.

Brett’s left-handed stance fills the canvas, set against luminous Royals blue and deep black. Farano isolates the instant before the pitch, drawing the viewer into the concentration of a hitter who built his legacy one demanding at-bat at a time.
