Rickey Henderson could change a game before the next batter took a swing. Baseball’s career leader with 1,406 stolen bases and 2,295 runs, he combined speed, patience, and power to redefine the leadoff role. He won the 1990 American League MVP award, collected 3,055 hits, and earned election to the Hall of Fame in 2009. His 939th steal on May 1, 1991 moved him past Lou Brock, giving fans an enduring image of Oakland’s record-breaker holding third base above his head.

“Art Of The Steal” is Justyn Farano’s career tribute to Henderson’s Oakland legacy. The portrait brings his presence at the plate together with that record-breaking base-raising celebration, connecting the complete offensive player with the moment he became baseball’s stolen-base king.
