"Point Of Attack"

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose’s arrival in Chicago brought the Bulls a hometown guard with the speed and strength to attack the basket. Selected first overall in the 2008 NBA Draft, he became the league’s youngest MVP in 2011 at age 22. That season made Rose the first Bull since Michael Jordan to win the award.

In “Point Of Attack,” Justyn Farano captures Rose airborne in his white No. 1 Bulls uniform, the basketball extended in one hand as he approaches the basket. A Chicago skyline silhouette and bold Rose lettering establish the setting against a textured red-and-black background. The composition concentrates on his reach, balance, and forward movement, preserving the attacking style that made his early Chicago years such a memorable chapter in the franchise’s history. This original painting is hand-signed by Derrick Rose.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
