Jack Nicklaus’ 1986 Masters victory gave golf one of its great championship Sundays. At 46, the Golden Bear shot a final-round 65, including 30 on the back nine, to claim his sixth green jacket and 18th professional major title. The win made him the oldest Masters champion and added a final chapter to a major record that still sets the standard in men’s golf. For fans who remember the charge, “’86” says it all.
