"Not On My Watch"

Yadier Molina

Yadier Molina gave Cardinals fans 19 seasons of leadership from the position where every pitch begins. A ten-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove winner, he helped St. Louis win two World Series championships while building a reputation for controlling the running game and earning his pitchers’ trust. His value reached beyond the plays that appeared in a box score, shaping the way the Cardinals competed. “Not On My Watch” celebrates that enduring presence and the connection between a defensive cornerstone and a city that came to know him simply as Yadi.

Justyn Farano’s portrait brings Molina’s watchful intensity together with the Gateway Arch and St. Louis skyline. The city setting gives the title its deeper connection: a tribute to the catcher who spent his entire major league career protecting the Cardinals’ home plate. This artist recreation is hand-signed by Yadier Molina.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
