"Passion Never Sleeps, Legends Live Forever"

Jordan Bryant & James

Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James each helped define a different chapter of NBA basketball. Jordan’s six championships with Chicago, Bryant’s five with the Lakers, and James’ title-winning years with Miami and Cleveland connect three careers that have shaped the way generations of fans experience the game.

In “Passion Never Sleeps, Legends Live Forever,” Justyn Farano brings the three players into a wide, layered composition. Large action portraits of Jordan, Bryant, and James are surrounded by smaller playing scenes, trophy imagery, footwear, and words such as “Drive,” “Focus,” and “Passion.” Warm gold and bronze connect the different uniforms and eras. The painting places their individual stories side by side, drawing its shared theme from the work and ambition behind their achievements.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
