"Predator, Not Prey"

Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts brings strength and composure to a position that demands both. His ability to threaten a defense as a passer and runner has made him central to Philadelphia’s offense. That leadership reached a championship milestone in Super Bowl LIX, when he earned MVP honors in the Eagles’ 40-22 victory over Kansas City.

Created before that championship, Justyn Farano’s “Predator, Not Prey” captures Hurts during an earlier chapter of his Eagles career. He carries the football in his white No. 1 jersey, eyes forward, with deep green textures, floating feathers, and an eagle’s talons behind him. Play diagrams give the background a strategic edge. The composition celebrates a quarterback moving with purpose, preserving the competitive identity that was already taking shape in Philadelphia.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
