"Cream of Acrop"

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s rise in Milwaukee brought league MVP awards in 2019 and 2020, followed by an NBA championship and Finals MVP honors in 2021. His 50-point performance in the title-clinching game helped deliver the Bucks’ first championship in 50 years.

Created before that championship, Justyn Farano’s “Cream of Acrop” captures Antetokounmpo extended toward the basket, the basketball raised high in one hand. His black Milwaukee No. 34 uniform stretches through a tall composition framed by green. A stag, the Bucks emblem, and bold “The Greek Freak” lettering connect the player to the team, while the wood-grain background echoes a basketball court. The work emphasizes the reach and movement that make his play around the rim so distinctive. This original painting is hand-signed by Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
