"The Legend Of Big Papi"

David Ortiz

David “Big Papi” Ortiz helped turn generations of Boston heartbreak into a championship era. His October heroics helped the Red Sox end an 86-year World Series title drought in 2004, followed by championships in 2007 and 2013. In the 2013 World Series, he batted .688 and earned MVP honors, delivering again when Boston needed him most. With 541 career home runs, 10 All-Star selections and election to the Hall of Fame in 2022, Ortiz gave Red Sox fans a legacy of power, postseason conviction and an enduring bond with their city.

In “The Legend Of Big Papi,” Justyn Farano celebrates that career and connection to Boston. Alongside the championship milestones, Ortiz’s microphone-in-hand address at Fenway after the Marathon bombing recalls the voice that helped rally a grieving city. This original painting is hand-signed by David Ortiz with the inscriptions “HOF ’22” and “The Legend Of Big Papi.”

To commemorate his illustrious career, Justyn has captured some of Ortiz’s highlights and iconic moments including:

3 Times World Series Champ, 2013 World Series MVP, 541 Home Runs, 2,472 Hits, 1,768 RBI, 10 Times All Star, AND HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2022

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
