"Class of 2019"

2019 MLB Hall of Fame Class

Six distinct paths to Cooperstown come together in Justyn Farano’s “Class of 2019.” Mariano Rivera’s record-setting relief career, Roy Halladay’s two Cy Young Awards and Mike Mussina’s 270 wins share the spotlight with Edgar Martinez’s precision at the plate, Lee Smith’s power in the ninth inning and Harold Baines’s enduring offensive production. United by their induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, these players represent different ways of shaping the game. Farano brings those legacies into one tribute, connecting collectors with the teams, rivalries and memories behind baseball’s highest individual honor.

Locker-room details frame the six players, while the Hall of Fame entrance at the center connects their playing careers with Cooperstown. The induction emblem and prominent class lettering give the composition the feeling of a shared homecoming in baseball history.

This limited-edition artist recreation on canvas is hand signed by Mariano Rivera, Edgar Martinez, Mike Mussina, Lee Smith and Harold Baines. Each has added a “HOF 2019” inscription, and Rivera has also inscribed “Unanimous.”

The philosophy behind my art has always been to make the most compelling, engaging experience for you, the viewer. I try to envision what it was like to compete against that athlete on the field. I want you to feel that grit and rawness of emotion, the athlete’s competitive fire, and passion.

As a perfectionist, my obsession of getting these details precise, takes razor focus, constant critiquing, and fine tuning. It’s not till the painting is complete to my highest of standard, till I am genuinely satisfied.
